Robert built many stone houses and foundations for barns around Belgrave, ON. He also owned and operated a Lime Kiln, Hotel and Hardware store. He home- steaded in the Moosejaw, Sask area, With the help of his nephew Will Knox he built 5 stone homes. In 1968 one of these homes was gutted by fire. The stones were donated to the Buffalo Pound Provincial Park where they were used to build stone abutments at Lookout Point. A plaque is erected there honouring Robert for his services to the community.
