Information from “Virginia/West Virginia Genealogical Data from Revolutionary War Pension and Bounty Land Warrant Records”, Vol. 1, compiled by Patrick G. Wardell, Lt. Col. U.S. Army Ret. :

Covington, Robert, entered service 1779 in Culpeper County, Virginia; born 1/1762; granted Pension 1832 in Madison County, Kentucky, where he died 8/10/1847; married there 5/15/1843 to Amy Burk/Buirke; widow granted Pension age 70 there in 1853 when affidavit there by John Buirke age 64 that he was present at marriage of soldier & Amy Buirke; query letter in file states soldier was born 1/3/1762 in Culpeper County, Virginia, & he died 3/8/1847 in Madison County, Kentucky; query letter in file in 1912 from descendant R.C.H. Covington, Richmond, Kentucky, who was also descendant of Revolutionary War soldier Daniel Maupin of Albemarle County, Virginia, who later resided in Madison County, Kentucky. R667.
