Mansel O. Coker is enumerated in the 1850 U. S. census on page 177 (a) in Murray County, Georgia. Martha (Coker ?) Jackson is enumerated on page 178 immediately following the household of Robert Coker. Martha is in the household of Claborn C. Jackson.

Lenard Coker & Charlotte Coker in the 1850 household of Robert Coker

The opinion of this researcher is that Charlotte Coker is not a daughter of Robert Coker, but Charlotta Wilson the wife of Lenard Coker. Charlotta Wilson married Leonard T. Coker in 1849 in Murray County, Georgia and she is enumerated in 1860 with Leonard Coker in the household of Charles Isham in Comanche County, Texas.

Death

Research to date has not revealed any information on the death of Robert Coker. There are no probate records on a Robert Coker in Murray County, Georgia. Robert Coker was enumerated as head of the household in the 1850 census in Murray County. By 1860 Elizabeth Coker and children Parthena and Peyton L. To Do List

1) Search for acquisition of land by Robert Coker; search Murray County tax lists and wills, search deeds and tax lists in Cherokee County, search Walton County wills and search Whitfield County.

2) I received this helpful information from Teresa. I believe that I forgot to check the reverse index for Deed Book I so I need to check that on my next trip to Georgia.

. . . Anyway my sister lives in Ga. and I asked her to see if she could find any land information about Robert in Murray Co. here is what she found. It doesn't exactly make sense. On 23 May 1840 he sold land (It was recorded on 21 Sep 1842) to Jacob Stover, approx. 168 acres for $200. Land lot 201, 13th district, 2nd section. I guess maybe he bought something after this and is why he was on the 1850 census.
