Richard L. Perham, 70, of Park Street died unexpectedly Monday. Born in Lewiston, a son of Ronald and Dorothy Wardwell Perham, he was a graduate of Groveton (N.H.) High School in 1943. Following service in World War II, he graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1948 with a B.S. degree in chemistry. Mr. Perham was employed by E.I. DuPont in Wilmington, Del., as a distribution specialist, transferring to Tokyo, and later to Corpus Christi, Texas, and returning to Wilmington where he retired in 1982 after 35 years with the concern. An accomplished musician, Mr. Perham was renowned throughout New England for his pipe organ playing, and his home in West Paris featured one of the world's finest pipe organs. Mr. Perham was a member and past president of the Pine Tree Chapter of the American Theater Organ Society and attended Our Lady of the Snows Church in Bethel. For many years he composed the monthly newsletter of the West Paris Universalist Church. He was a volunteer at the Agnes Gray Elementary School in West Paris and at Telstar High School in Bethel, assisting in their computer programs. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. John (Mary) Brown and Mrs. Stanley (Marcia) Snell, both of Lisbon, N.H.; a brother, David W. of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday at Our Lady of the Snows, Route 26, Bethel.
