Nickname:<NICK> Dutch Was a supervisor at the National Bottle Co. Was nickname d "Dutch" due to the fact that when he was younger he had a speech impediment t hat made it difficult to understand him. His brothers then began to call him D utch (as in Dutch accent). (interview with Rodney McLaughlin 2-9-02)

DEATH: As reported in an interview with Rodney McLaughlin on January 28, 2002 Richard Alvin's official cause of death was pneumonia. He had blood in his lungs due to heavy smoking over the years.

DEATH: Death certificate states immediate c ause of death intractible pneumonia with hypoxia Interval between onset and de ath was one month Other significant conditions that contributed to death but n ot related to cause given above was chronic obsturctive lung disease and cyanot ic congenital heart disease. there was no autopsy
