    BURLINGTON - Mr. Richard F. Isley Jr.., 76, of Burlington Care Center died at 6:25 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, 1997, at his home after three years of failing health.

    A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of the late Mrs.. Sarah Cross Isley, and the son of Mrs.. Vivian Foster Isley, who survives, and the late Mr. Richard Freeman Isley Sr. He was retired from the N.C. Department of Transportation.

    Survivors other than his mother of Burlington include a son, Mr. Jerry Isley of Elon College; three sisters, Mrs.. John W. (Luone) Burwell Jr.. of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., Mrs.. Hughes J. (Avril) Rhodes Jr.. of Burlington and Mrs.. Arnold H. (Helen) Ward of Roanoke, Va.; two brothers, Mr. Harold V. Isley of Burlington and Mr. Donald W. Isley of Palm City, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

    A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pine Hill Cemetery by the Rev. Skip Williams, pastor of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
