The extract of Richard's will mentions children Hugh, Mary, Clayton, Katharine Fitz Randolph, Sarah Taylor, Mercy, Lawrence and William. He also left a legacy to the poor of Shewsbury Meeting. Half an acre of land, fronting the street and including his wife's grave was to laid out as a family burying ground. Other property mentioned was land on the North side of town, adjoining Moses Lippitt, meadow near John Pew, do. near John Wilson, all in Middletown Meadows; 100 acres on South side of Manasquan River. Personal property mentioned was books, papers and a silver tankard. He came from London, England to America in September 1669 and located in East Jersey on land at Middletown. He was town clerk of Middletown, New Jersey in 1675. He was Sheriff of Monmouth County in 1683. He was a Lawyer. References
