Richard Copps was baptised on Christmas Day 1806 at Weston in Hertfordshire, son of Elizabeth Copps, formerly Thompson, and her husband George Copps, a labourer. Richard was the second of their six children. Sadly he died as a young man when he was nineteen years old, being buried at Weston on 18th December 1825.
