Acquisition of Land from Chalkley's:
- Page 426.--20th September, 1765. John Harrison, Sr., to Reuben Harrison, his son, £10, part of two tracts: 1st contains 117 acres, part of 284 acres patented to John, 25th June, 1747, on Smith's Creek; the other tract contains 83 acres, part of 166 acres patented to John, 25th June, 1747, on Smith's Creek. Teste: Daniel Smith, Jos. Rutherford, Wm. Kavanaugh. Jane ( ) Smith. Delivered: Reuben Harrison, November, 1766.

Notes
Settled directly on the early Indian Road about a mile south of his father, on the Valley Pike, a short distance from Lacey Springs. One of the Justices named to the Court of Augusta, and was a Captain in the Rockingham Militia.
Served as Captain of a company of the Lower battalion of the Augusta Co. VA, Militia 1776-1777. (Vol.30 p.400 VA Mag of Hist & Bio; Vol I,p. 93, Abstracts from Records of Augusta Co. VA; Historical Registar of VA in the Rev, p. 355.
