  • Vol. 2 - NOTES OF MILITARY SERVICES IN FREDERICK COUNTY, VIRGINIA, 1783, April 1st.--May 6th, Thomas Blakemore, a soldier, killed. (Note: appears to tie-into record below).
  • Vol. 2 - Marriage Bond - 1796--September 28, James Brownlee (widower) and John Gates, surety. James Brownlee and Rebecah Blackamore, widow.


Possible Change of Heart?:

The existence of this additional (but prior) Marriage Bond in Augusta County, appears to indicate that Rebecca may have had a "change of mind" about marrying Henry Spearing, and [perhaps] within a week, decided to marry James Brownlee, instead: [needs further research to determine if this is the same Rebecca Blakemore]
