Graveside funeral services will be Friday, September 6 at 11 AM, for Ramelle Patterson, at Cave Springs Cemetery in Chester County. She died Wednesday, September 4th, in Franklin, Tennessee. She died on her 72nd Wedding Anniversary.


She was born in Jacks Creek, TN on May 14, 1925, and married James Milburn Patterson on September 4, 1941 in Corinth, Mississippi. The couple moved to Peoria, Illinois. in 1951 where Mrs. Patterson worked in the Princess Peggy dress factory for 18 years. She served as shop steward for several years. Following retirement they lived in Bells, Tennessee. for a few years before moving to Decatur, Alabama. to live near their daughter. Mrs. Patterson had lived in Franklin, Tennessee for about 4 years prior to her death.


Mrs. Patterson is survived by three daughters; Von Bara Hayward (John) of Fayetteville, Arkansas; Sheila P. Roberts (John) of Decatur, Alabama; and Chris Smith (Donald) of Franklin, Tennessee.; 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 brothers, G. W. Logan of Grand Prairie, Texas. and Jimmy Logan of Washington, Illinois. and one sister, Wanda Olsen of Billings, Montana. Mrs. Patterson was predeceased by her husband James M Patterson; brothers, John Thomas Logan, Clinton Logan, Sam Logan and Bill Logan.


Mrs. Patterson was an active member of the Church of Christ for more than 60 years and excelled in hospitality. She was a superior Rook player and enjoyed gardening and visiting her children. Her kind and gentle spirit will be long-remembered by her family and friends.
