It is possible that he was the brother of Ambrose Jackson, but there is no direct evidence for this. He mentioned Ambrose's granddaughter Hannah in his will, but this may be because he lived near Hannah's father (Henry Jackson) and he and his wife might have been her godparents.^[1]
