    "The surname of Blasdell is also spelled in early records in Essex county Blaisdell, Blaisdill, Blasdale, Blasdel, Blasdill, Blasedill, Blassdell, Blazdale, Blazdel, Blazdell and Blesdale. The American ancestor of this family was Ralph Blasdell1, a tailor. He lived in Salisbury as early as 1640 having come from York, Me. He married Elizabeth _____, and died between 1648 and 1650. His wife Elizabeth survived him; and died in Salisbury, his widow, 'about ye middle of August, 1667.'"
