DEATH OF MRS. (Prudence) FRANTZ
Mother of Mrs. O.W. Meyers Passes to Her Reward at the Age of Sixty-Seven Years.

Funeral Will Be Wednesday

Mrs. O.W.(Susan) Myers received a message last evening conveying the sad news of the death of her mother, Mrs. M(artin) F. Frantz, who passed away yesterday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Leona (James) Bird, of Williamsport. Mrs. Frantz had been a sufferer several years from diabetes, and her death was not unexpected, though it came, as such events always must come, as a severe shock.

The body will be brought here this evening on the 5:35 o'clock Pennsylvania train and the funeral will be private, and will be held on Wednesday, interment being made at Graveyard Schoolhouse [Ridge Cemetery].

Mrs. Frantz was in her sixty-seventh year (born 15 Jan 1843), and formerly lived at Instanter, this county. She is survived by her husband and seven children (bore ten) who are as follows: Frank Frantz, of Curwensville; Edwin Frantz; Blake Frantz and Robert Frantz of Hutchins; Mrs. E.(Eugene) A. (Minnie) Thompson of Penn Yann, Pa (NY), Mrs. Leona Bird, of Williamsport; and Mrs. O.W. Meyers, of Ridgway.

Mrs. Frantz was a woman of lovely character and had a wide circle of friends who will mourn her death. The sympathy of the people of the local community is extended to the members of the family in their bereavement.

  1.   1900 Census states Prudence bore 10 children, 7 currently living. Leona Frantz' age and birthdate are very hard to read. In subsequent census her age varies as much as 7 or 8 years. The 1880 census claims she is 4.
