Polly as she was called married Amos Ames in sullivan according to LDS records, in 1790. Polly had long connections with Sullivan through her uncle Jeremiah, who had been in this part of Maine since the 1760s! I guess, but dont know, that her father Ebenezer might have come with her from York, Maine. I have found records that make Polly and Sally daughters of Mary Odiorne, who is also associated with NH. (Groton, NH, in fact). The Groton vital records say that Sally and Polly are daughters of Polly -- not Mary. There is a puzzle here that is just not clear at the moment. Was Amos married twice? Does this explain the ambiguity of his wife being called Mary/Polly?
