Pitt Edgar, b. 21 Mar., 1836; d. 3 May, 1863. He was a soldier in the Civil War, having enlisted 24 May, 1861, as a Private in Company K, Thirty-eighth Regiment, New York Volunteer Infantry. In the first battle of Bull Run he was severely wounded. He recovered and returned to his regiment, and in the battle of Chancellorsville, Va., was shot in the right temple and instantly killed. His bravery was much commended by his comrades.
