    [Note: one would presume from the text that knowledge of this marriage is based on "disposed of much of his property when he made his will Mar. 5, 1754. He owned a good estate at his death which he divided among his legal representatives." The will has not been located to confirm that he names Phebe Eddy, but it is assumed so.]
