"February 2, 1732-3, Hannah Deane sister to Capt. James Leonard, late of Taunton deceased, gave to the subscriber the following account of her relations &c-- ... Her Father's brother's [sic] names were the eldest, 1 Henry Leonard[,] 2 William Leonard[,] 3 John Leonard[,] 4th Philip Leonard[,] 5 Thomas Leonard ... Philip lived at Marshfield and died at Taunton."
It is speculated (and generally accepted) that this is the death record of Philip, son of Thomas, in spite of the fact that his niece Hannah Deane said he died at Taunton. See the citation from Genealogy of William Hills.
