In 1672, Hatfield's Philip Barsham stole eight bushels of wheat and meal from fellow townemen Samuel Dikinson and Eleazer Frary. Fined forty shillings, plus fifteen lashes, pus damges to Dickinson and triple damages to Frary, his future in Hatfield could hardly have been bright. He, too, soon moved to Pocumtuck.
