PETER(1) MONTAGUE, b. ca. 1603 (aged 21 in Jan. 1624); d. in Virginia 1659; m. CICILY -----. He sailed to Virginia in 1621 and is named in the 1634 visitation as living there. He was mentioned in the will of Robert Portman, "Bound for Ireland," 8 Jan. 1650/1. Portman bequeathed "unto Peeter Mountague the sonne of Peter Mountague in Virginia one Cowe calfe … [and] unto Margarett Mountague the daughter of the afore said Peeter Mountague one Sowe the which I have left in her fathers hands." The will was probated 22 Aug. 1654. Peter died the same year as his mother, his will being probated 25 May 1659.
