Peter Atherton
- Will made 15 Dec 1806; probated 29 Dec 1820; record book 1 page 491; Heirs wife-Phebe, daughters-Mary, Elizabeth, Nancy Hawk (John Hawk); sons David, Charles, Elijah and Amos; Executor-wife Phebe and son David; Witness; Robert Simmonds, John Cleaver Jr. and Richard Simmonds
- The Will of Peter Atherton - probated in Hamilton County, Ohio on the 29th day of December A.D. 1820.
- The original record was destroyed in the burning of the Court House on March 29th A.D. 1821; but the original Will and the probate thereof upon the Journal of said Court were preserved. It was later ordered by the Probate Court that the record be restored.
- Peter Atherton bequeathed the following
- To Phoebe Atherton my dearly beloved Wife, all my real and personal estate during the time she shall remain my widow
- To my daughter Mary Atherton, one horse, bridle, and saddle one feather bed and bed-furniture to the value of one hundred and seven dollars
- To my daughter Elizabeth Atherton, one horse bridle and saddle one feather bed and bed furniture to the value of one hundred and twelve dollars
- To my daughter Nancy Hawk one dollar in _____, and if ever she shall survive her present husband John Hawk my will is that she shall have one fourth of my personal property, if not, my will is that it be equally divided between my three children David Atherton, Mary Atherton, and Elizabeth Atherton
- To my three sons Charles Atherton, Elijah Atherton, and Amos Atherton all my lands and tenements to be equally divided between the three, to them, and their heirs forever.
- Appoint my wife Phebe Atherton and my son David Atherton, be the Executors of this my last will and testament
- Sworn by Robert Simmons, John Cleaves Jr, Richard Simmons
