Land Acquisition in Augusta County as listed in Chalkley's:

Page 328.--2d August, 1771. Same to Patrick Campbel. £40, 234 acres in Beverley Manor, on south side of Timber Ridge, James Leeper's line. John Shield's line; corner Robert Christian and John Shields; corner James Hamilton, James Wilson's line. Delivered: Patrick Campbell, 11th March, 1772.

Marriage Record

Campbell, Patrick of Botetourt County, and Ann Powell, spinster, November 3, 1774. James Ware, surety. [Source: Marriage Records of Amherst County, Virginia 1763-1800].

Given the date of 1774, this marriage occurred shortly after Patrick Jr. secured property on Beverley Manor, following his father's death in 1771. The fact that the marriage was recorded in Amherst County probably indicates a family connection with the Campbells associated with the Woods family who settled in Amherst and Bedford counties. However, the record indicates that Patrick was then living in Botetourt County, not on Beverley Manor, so this may be a different Patrick Campbell altogether.

3:545:Page 242.--20th November, 1775. Patt. Campbell and Ann ( ) to Thomas Stevenson, of Amherst County.

From Chalkley's Augusta County Judgements:

Campbell vs Campbell.--Bond of Patrick Campbell to Maryan (Marion) Campbell, widow and relict of William Campbell, dated 1745. Assignment on back to John Campbell, dated 1747, and signed Maryan Buchanan.

Given the 1745 date this is presumably a record for Patrick Sr. William Campbell is presumably Patrick's father, and Marion his mother. Apparently Patrick gave his bond to his mother in some matter, and Marion later assigned that bond to son John. Further work needed to verify this interpretation. IN anycase, this does not seem to have anything to do with Patrick Jr.
