The existence of this child is questionable: (1) 2 July 1706 was a Tuesday, not a Sunday, so a baptism on that date is unlikely; (2) there is no baptism for a Patience Howland in 1706 listed in the Bristol church records [NEHGR 34:137]; (3) two older sisters were not baptized until their mother was on 7 February 1707/08 - it is unlikely that a younger sibling would be baptized earlier; (4) the date of death (5 October 1707) is the same as that given for sister Elizabeth born 15 May 1707 - published Bristol vital records say that an unnamed child of Jabez and Patience Howland died on that date.
