In 1860 he was a shoemaker; in 1870, a grocer. In 1860 they lived in Delaware Twp., Mercer County Pennsylvania and in 1870 they lived in Youngstown Ohio next to Charles, Josiah and Lucinda.

His probate file contains many pages - the following are the ones that contain genealogical information. Sept 27 1875 Administrators Bond of $1500 for Josiah Kremm, George W. Thompson and William Moyer & George W. Kremm.

January 6, 1877 petition presented to sell real estate.

  The petition of Josiah Kremm and George W. Thomson Administrators of O.W. Strouse late of Delaware Township in said County, deceased, respectfully represents:  that the said O.W. Strouse died on or about the sixteenth day of September A.D. one thousand eight hundred & seventy five, intestate, leaving to survive him, his widow Elizabeth and four children, viz: Ella and Benjamin, Austin and Josiah, all of whom are minor children and have no guardian...

No. 1 - A house and lot situate in the village of Hamburgh, Delaware tp. in said County, Bounded on the North by a public road, on the East by other lot of account, on the South by an alley and on the West by an alley being his mansion house, containing one quarter of an acre...

Your petitioners therefor pray the Court to order the sale of as much of the said real estate as to the Court shall appear necessary for the payment of debts of said decedent.

April 30 1892 Final Account of Estate

 Whereas Josiah Kremm, administrator of O.W. Strouse, dec'd, filed his final account in above case, showing a balance of $246.54 due him.  And whereas, on June 11 1891, exceptions to said account were filed on behalf of Ellen J. Hurst, C.B. Strouse, Henry A. Strouse, and Frank Strouse, heirs of decendent.  Now in order to avoid litigation and further disputes, it is hereby agreed that the said Josiah Kremm hereby releases and discharges the said estate and the above named heirs from all liability to him for the above balance of $246.54...and the said heirs do hereby release and discharge the said Josiah Kremm from all liability to them for rents collected by him and in consideration of the above agreement and release by the said Kremm do hereby withdraw the exceptions filed to his said account.
