Owen Skinner Ingram was born about 1777 in Strood, Kent, England, the eldest known child of Thomas and Ann Ingram. He was baptised 7 Dec 1777 at St. Nicholas of Myra Church, Strood, Kent, England. A brother, Thomas, was baptised 25 Jun 1780 at St. Botolph's Church, Northfleet, Kent, England and a possible sister Mary was born about 1782 and married at St. Botolph's Church in 1808. Owen's father Thomas died and was buried at St. Botolph's on 15 Apr 1782 when Owen was just 5 or 6.

On 15 Jul 1799 at the age of 21 Owen married 17 year-old Hannah Webster at St. Botolph's. Witnesses were John Randfield and Mary Alexander. Hannah and Owen had the following children, all born in Northfleet and baptised at St. Botolph's:

1. Owen bap. 6 Apr 1800, bur. at St. Botolph's 2 Dec 1802
2. Hannah bap. 10 Jan 1802
3. Owen Skinner bap. 19 Feb 1804
4. John Thomas bap. 25 Dec 1805
5. Mary Ann bap. 4 Oct 1807

Sometime between 1807 and 1808 the family moved to Poplar, London, where they had more children:

6. William b. 21 Sep 1809 in Rotherhithe and bap. 15 Oct 1809 at St. Mary's Church, Rotherhithe
7. Joseph b. 20 Sep 1811 in Poplar and bap. 17 Nov 1811 at St. Dunstan and All Saints Church
8. Thomas Owen b. 12 Sep 1813 in Blackwall and bap. 13 Oct 1813 at All Saints Church, Poplar
9. Eliza b. abt 1815 in Poplar, bap. 1 Dec 1815 at All Saints Church, Poplar
10. Elizabeth b. 29 Sep 1817 in Poplar, bap. 10 Dec 1817 at All Saints Church, Poplar
11. Sarah b. 16 Oct 1819 in Poplar, bap. 12 Nov 1819 at All Saints Church, Poplar
12. Nancy b. 1822 in Poplar, bap. 19 Jun 1822 at All Saints Church, Poplar

Hannah had twelve children between 1800 and 1822, and was 41 when her eldest child was born. Although it is unusual to name children Eliza and Elizabeth, both lived to adulthood, and Eliza named her own children Eliza and Elizabeth.

Owen died and was buried 18 Apr 1824 at All Saints Church, Poplar at the age of 46, leaving Hannah a widow with ten children under the age of 20 to support.

Two of Owen and Hannah's descendants married descendants of John and Rebecca Egalton. Their child Eliza Ingram married Joseph Egalton, son of John and Rebecca and their great-grandchild Rosetta Whitfield married Henry Charles Young, the gr-gr-granddaughter of John and Rebecca. Descendants of Owen and Hannah currently live in England, Canada, New Zealand and the United States.
