From O.P.Allen's "The Doolittle Family", p. 18-19: He died in La Joilee, Bureau Co., Ill., Feb. 26, 1856. She [his wife] died July 8, 1858. Like his brother he received a forest tract of land in Townsend, where he resided till 1824, when he removed to Winchester with his brother Amzi as related above. In 1854 he removed with his familiy to La Morlle, Ill. He was a well to do farmer.
