According to the "History of Wayne County, NY - Town of Lyons" by Geo W Combs c. 1895, Nicholas J. Stansell died 8 June 1844 in a logging accident at the family business - a Saw mill- skimmimg logs in Wolcott Township, Wayne County, New York."
