1829McNairyIndenture made this 24 Dec. 1829, Jesse Oden, Admin. of John Borden Estate, of the County of McNairy, TN. of the one part and Nicodemus Keith of the Co. and State aforesaid of the other part, witnesseth that Jesse Oden for the sum of one hundred and sixty dollars hath sold unto Nicodemus Keith a certain tract of land containing forty acres in the County of White, dated the 24th day of June 1814. Bledsoe County, Deed Bk. F, pg.142, registared in the County of McNairy Tn. Book A, pg 69, on 29 Dec 1829.
1830BledsoeThis indenture made this 20 Dec 1830, between Nichodemus Keith of the Co. of McNairy and State of TN. of the one part and Isaac Hicks (his son-in-law) of the Co. of Marion in the state aforsaid of the other part, witnesseth the Nichodemus Keith for the sum of fifty dollars hath sold unto Isaac Hicks a tract of land containing forty acres in Bledsoe Co. on Buffalo Creek of Main Cany Fork occupied by John Borden. John Borden (d. 1798) m. Ann Hawkins (?). About 1770 they removed from Frederick County to Bedford County, Virginia, and a few years later to Knox County, Tenn....[ninth Child] Margaret Borden m. Judge Nichodemus Keith, of Knoxville."

If the statement is true, it appears that Judge Nichodemus Keith was living in Knoxville, Tn. when he married Margaret Borden. They were married about the year 1776, (estimated from age of children).

The author has done research on many families in the area and the book contains the entire 1800 census for this area plus the research done on some families.

Cornelius Keith, Sr., was born i n 1743, died 13 June 1820 and i s buried i n Oolenoy churchyard in Pickens County, S.C. His wife Mary LaFoom (Laffoon?) Keith was born 1749, died 13 Feb. 1846. Cornelius Keith, Jr., was born 14 May 1786, died 26 Nov. 1848. His wife Nancy was born 24 June 1788, died 1 March 1863. Cornelius, Sr., was of a family l i v i n g on the Roanoke River in Brunswick County in 1734, and found in various places i n southern Virginia; he himself moved from Surry County, N.C, to Pendleton District probably about 1795, along with a number of others from that area. He wrote a w i l l 19 May 1820, which was not f i l e d for many years (Pack 183, Equity, Pickens County). His children were John, George, William L., James, Allen, Mary (married Amos Sutherland), Sarah (married William Sutherland), Rebecca (married Joseph B. Reid), Eady (married Alfred Hester), Cornelius. Cornelius Keith, Sr., probably went to South Carolina shortly after he sold land in 1795 i n Patrick now Grayson County, Va., to Nathaniel Stewart. Some of this Stewart family and several Keiths, probably related to Cornelius, removed to Greenville D i s t r i c t , S.C Daniel and Alexander Keith were enumerated in Pendleton D i s t r i c t in 1790 and James Keith sold, 24 Sept. 1792 to James and Andrew Holland, land on Big Beaverdam Creek in what is now Anderson County, with Daniel Keith as a witness. Duncan Keith moved from Surry County, N.C, to Greenville D i s t r i c t , S.C.
