According to the Sallie DeWitt 1981 Genealogy, she died of pnuemonia. She was listed in the 1880 census as a 9 year old girl living with Amos and Sarah DeWitt, and her relationship was listed as 'sister in law' (to Amos). I learned later in probate files at the Frankliln County Clerk's office in Ozark, that Nellie P. was actually the daughter of Herod F. Hudson, but Amos (Nellie's sister's husband) was appointee her guardian after Herod died.
