BIRTH: Spurwink, now Cape Elizabeth. BIOGRAPHY: He was Lieut. Col. of the militia raised in Cumberland Co. and was on the pay roll as field and staff officer, 1779. Found [while visiting David Library of the American Revolution, Washington Crossing, PA], in the DAR Patriot Index on 8 Oct 2008, as Nathaniel Jordan, Sr., b. 24 Dec 1718, MA, d. aft. 1779, MA, m. Hannah Woodbury, LCol MA. Note: Maine was then part of MA. The library also had a card on him indicating date of enlistment as 22 Jul 1780 for a 6 month term and also listed the 11th Massachusetts Regiment, Benjamin Tupper, Colonel. He is also listed in “Soldiers, Sailors and Patriots of the Revolutionary War, Maine”, Pub. by SAR, Louisville, KY, p. 423.
