    Nathan was the son of Joseph and Abigail Foster. He married Mary Lyon, daughter of Joseph and Mary (Pierson) Lyon, abt. 1706 and moved to Newark, Essex Co., New Jersey. He is called a "Clothier" in a 1713 deed in Newark, New Jersey and was back in Elizabethtown, New Jersey by 1726, when a deed identifies him living near "Bond Green" at the time. He died at Elizabethtown, New Jersey, Nov. 18, 1737, and was originally buried in the "Old Burying Ground," in Newark, New Jersey. In 1890 his remains were removed to Newarak's Fairmont Cemetery and placed in a crypt marked by a statue honoring the cities founders.
