Gentleman", dated 1 Jan 1739/40, proved 30 Nov 1743, names wife Mary Bassett; eldest son Samuell Bassett; Dorothy Bassett daughter of my son Nathan Bassett Deceased; my three daughters Viz. Mary Smith, Elizabeth Smith and Hope Tisdeill; two grand sons viz. Cornelius & Barachiah Bassett; son William Bassett; son John Bassett. Sons Samuel & William to be executors.
    29 Nov 1743: Letters of administration on undisposed Estate of your father Nathan Bassett Late of Chilmark Gentleman Deceased granted to Samuel Bassett of Chilmark, "the greatest Part of his Personall Estate the same not being Disposed of in his Last will".
