Naomi Hardstaff was baptised on 31st March 1819 at Quarrington in Lincolnshire, daughter of Naomi Hardstaff, formerly Wimpress, and her husband William Hardstaff, a farmer. The family lived at Old Sleaford Lodge, a farm to the east of Quarrington in the neighbouring parish of Old Sleaford.

Naomi's next sighting is in 1840, when she married a farmer named Edward Turner at Heckington, a few miles east of Quarrington and Old Sleaford. Quite likely her parents had moved the family to Heckington before her marriage, as in the 1841 census Naomi's parents were living at Heckington next door to Naomi and Edward at Heckington Fen. Both Naomi and Edward were described as farmers in the 1841 census.

Between 1840 and 1849 Naomi and Edward had six daughters at Heckington. None of the children would be baptised as babies, perhaps indicating non-conformist leanings.

Naomi died in 1850 aged 31, leaving Edward with the five girls to look after, aged from ten down to less than two when she died. Naomi was buried at Heckington on 29th December 1850. Edward outlived Naomi by nearly thirty years, but does not appear to have remarried.
