James L and Lydia, with family, John and Nancy Boggs, with family, moved to Lawrence County, Kentucky in 1822 per a statement made by Jame's grandson, John O. Boggs, in 1896 during a personal interview for his biography published in Jackson Co., Missouri.

From Robert Cunningham: John emigrated first to Grayson Co., Va,; settled in Lee County. Moved to Lawrence Co., Ky about 1820 and bought 400 acres at Cains Creek.

Nancy Wells was buried at Nelson-Rice Cemetery, located 5 miles west of Blaine, above the hill on Cains Creek, Highway 32. Dates were taken from tombstones.

An E-mail from Ken, dated 7/28/97, shows her as the daughter of Nelson Wells, of Welsh descendant, and mother unknown.

An E-mail from Karl, dated 7/31/97, shows her as the daughter of Zachariah Wells and Elizabeth Osborne Wells; also shows Welsh descendent and the notation that the Wells and Boggs were neighbors in Wilkes County, North Carolina, Grayson County, Virginia and Lee County, Virginia.

John and Nancy bought 400 acres on the "Main Waters" of Cains Creek. Named after the Revolutionary War Soldier, Richard Caines, the first settler on Cains Creek who's granddaughter, Mahalla Griffith, married the son of Hugh and Hannah Blevins Boggs, John "Puny" Boggs, in Lawrence Co., Ky, September 7, 1849.

The Boggs family is said to have been one of the first white families to settle in Eastern Kentucky. Around the year 1820 they were both members of the "Old Regular" Blaine United Baptist church.
