Mrs. B. L. Pope buried in Greenwood Cemetery

Mrs. B. Lem Pope, a well-known resident of Polk county, died at her home 2 miles southwest of Bolivar, Tuesday morning (21 Feb, 1933) after an illness of only a week.

The funeral was at 11 o'clock this morning (23 Feb 1933) at the Baptist Church in Bolivar, preached by the Rev. J. S. Weaver and the pastor, Rev. J. R. Blythe. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Hutcheson-Blue.

There are three children surviving, Lester E. Pope of Seattle, Washington; Mrs. B. J. George of Kansas City, and Mrs. Robert Waldron of Springfield. The daughters were present at the funeral but Lester did not try to make the trip because of the great distance.

Mr. and Mrs. Pope had celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with a basket dinner at their home last October 29 (1932) attended by more than 100 relatives and friends. Practically all their married life has been spent as residents of Polk county, and they have a great many friends who mourn the passing of Mrs. Polk.
