"Unionville Republican," Unionville, MO, 14 January 1925
    - "OBITUARY --
"Nancy Olive Reece was born in Lewis county, Ind., March 3, 1856, and departed this life at the home of her son, Harve, in Lucerne, January 6, 1925, dying at the age of 68 years, 10 months and 3 days. She was united in marriage to Samuel Mullenix in 1874 and to this union 10 children were born, 5 having preceded her in death, and her husband having preceded her 17 years ago in November.
"The children who are left to mourn her death are four sons, namely Charles of Shaw, Colo.; Ferd and Harve of Lucerne; Loren of Anamosa, Ia., and one daughter, Mrs. Lola Shriver, of Lucerne.
"When a young woman she was converted and united with the Christian church and has ever lived a devoted christian life.
"She has been a good and faithful mother, always ready to make any sacrifice for her children. She will be greatly missed in the home and by her friends. Besides the children she leaves to mourn, 28 grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
"Funeral services were held at the Lucerne, Mo. Christian church on Thursday, January 8, 1925, at 2:30, conducted by James R. Shultz, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Lucerne cemetery among the beautiful floral offerings."

NOTE: Nancy was not born in "Lewis County", Indiana, as stated in her obituary. There is no Lewis County, Indiana, and her parents were in Clinton County, Indiana at the time of her birth. However, her aunt had been in Lewis County, Missouri between 1850 and 1855, as had other branches of the family, and this may account for the reference to "Lewis County".
