- Mrs. Moyra Aline Turner Ross, 76, of 314 Greenwood Avenue, died Saturday afternoon at a Rome hospital after a short illness.
Mrs. Ross was born in Floyd County, October 5, 1917, daughter of the late William Edgar Turner and Vinnie Wigley Turner. She was a member of West Rome Baptist Church. She was a housewife and homemaker. She was an accomplished pianist and organist. She served as organist and pianist of West Rome Baptist Church for 22 years, organist at West Rome United Methodist Church for 15 years and, most recently, was organist and pianist at Lindale United Methodist Church. She was the staff organist for Stevens-Davenport Funeral Home and Talley Brothers Funeral Home. Survivors include: her husband, Lamar Ross, to whom she was married May 18, 1938; a son, John Ross, Franklin, Tennessee; two sisters, Lois T. Shores and Mary Hairston, both of Rome; a grandson; nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be at 4 pm Monday at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with Dr Larry Draper, Dr Wayne Styres and the Rev.
