Descendants of Michel and his wife Marie have been identified as carriers of a syndrome known as Malignant Hyperthermia, characterized by severe high temperatures, especially during anesthesia. |

XXXIV, no. 134 (Apr 1995); p. 229; Santa Cruz [CA] Genealogical Society, Public Library; submitted by Jerome Lepre. Statement by Marguerite DUPUIS, widow of Claude BABIN, on 8 Mar 1767: she said she was born "of Martin [sic] DUPUIS (from France) and Perrinne THERIOT [sic], both died at Port Royal." [Could these have been her great-grandparents, parents of this Michel, her grandfather?]
Also vol. XXXVI, no. 141 (Jan 1997); p. 45: Martin DUPUIS, married to Marie LANDRY, was issue of another Martin who came from France & Pirrine [sic] THERIOT.
!PARENTS: According to article indexed by PERSI from CTML, vol. 4, no. 1 (Summer 1989), a sister of Jean TERRIOT (THERIOT) came from France with her husband Martin DUPUIS after the TERRIOT's had arrived around 1636. Could these be the parents of this and other late DUPUIS's?
!CENSUS: 1686, Port Royal, Acadia, name spelled DUPEUSE, age 57 [sic], with wife Marie GOTRO and 4 children. They had 5 1/2 arpents workable land, 6 cattle, and 2 sheep. [Next door was another Marie GOTRO with her husband Claude TERIO].

Name given as Michel DUPEUX dit DUPUIS. He arrived in Acadia around 1648, married around 1644 [sic, for 1664?] to Marie GAUTEROT, widow of POTET.
