It is believed that this ancestor lived in the mountains of Germany; killed a deer to prevent his family from starving during a very severe winter. This deer belonged to the ruler of the province, who prohibited hunting by the citizenry. Learning that he had been observed in the unlawful killing, and knowing the penalty for such an act (crime of poaching), he fled the country and made his way to America. He left his wife and family in Germany. After his arrival in America, having become established and able to support his family, he sent for them. In the meantime his wife had died, but his seven sons and probably daughters came to America to join him. They arrived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and settled in Lancaster County. Later some of his sons moved into the valley of Virginia and spread to adjoining states; West Virginia, the Carolinas, Kentucky, and Ohio.

I read in a book about the Palatines of a Michael Peters and Anna Weymann from Bitberg, Germany.
