Actually born in England to Irish parents and considered himself Irish. "If a cat had kittens in the oven would you call them muffins?"

Aunt Nelle says he was from Enniskillen,County Fermanagh

1900 Census (see image above) notes he and his wife both immigrated in 1885 and were married in 1886. Michael was a day laborer and had been unemployed for 3 months at the time of the census. He could read and write, and he spoke English (many neighbors did not). He owned his home and it had a mortgage.
