From the written recollections of Laura Jane Ashton Vail, (Mrs. Charles L. Vail), Michael's half sister.
[Michael] Simeon served in the war of 1861-1865, came home and married Malissa Schooley. They had thirteen children: six died while young, Annetta, John, Willie, Merrel, Maud and Forrest. The seven still living are: Charles, Roy, Alva, Bert, Edith and Pearl and Olive. Simeon was a farmer. The last few years of his life he retired and lived in Defiance, Ohio. His farm was in Paulding County, Ohio.
