         ------------------------------------------------------ From book

Meltiar Hatch Colonizer; p.214,215 by Idella M. Armstrong and Veoma M. Stahle. - "Meltiar attended the conference of the Southern Mission held in St. George June 3, 4, and 5, 1870. Besides the president of the Mission and presidency of the Stake, among other speakers were Bishops Edward Bunker of Santa Clara and Meltiar Hatch of Eagleville. Meltiar had to hurry home after conference for a very special occasion. On the 11th of June, 1870, his oldest son Tie (Meltiar, Jr.) was married to Julia Ann Adams in Eagleville. This was the first of many marriages in his family.

Julia was the daughter of James and Sarah Ellen Carroll Adams, who had

settled in Panaca in 1867 or 1868.It appears that `Tie' and Julia became acquainted at that time. A little later the Adams family decided to move to Eagle Valley. When they arrived there `Tie' was in the field irrigating. Julia Ann had marriage in mind, and `Tie" was very happy to see her again, and the marriage was soon arranged. Julia Ann was barely sixteen years old, and `Tie' was twenty-three. They were later sealed in the St. George Temple on 4 April 1878, a year after the temple was completed."
