ORIGIN: Unknown. MIGRATION 1635 on theSusan & Ellen (on 13 April 1635, "Matthew Hitchcock," aged 25, was enrolled at London as a passenger for New England on the Susan & Ellen [Hotten 59]). CHURCH MEMBERSHIP: Admission to New Haven church prior to 4 June 1639 implied by freemanship. FREEMAN: "Mathew Hitchcock" appears in the lists of New Haven freemen of 4 June 1639 and 1 July 1644 [NHCR 1:17, 138]. BIRTH: About 1610 (aged 25 in 1635 [Hotten 59]). DEATH: New Haven [blank] November 1669 [NHVR 32]. ASSOCIATIONS: Matthew Hitchcock was a brother of Edward Hitchcock {1642, New Haven}. … There is no evidence one way or another whether Luke Hitchcock of New Haven and Wethersfield was a third brother.
