Pages 277-79. Will of Bennet Beasley of the County of Orange, dated 7 Jan. 1758.
Matthew Peatross and Mary Peatross should be paid £6.3.- each when they come of age which is there due of there [sic] father's estate and the said Matthew to be paid his due share of the rents came by the land in Caroline Couty which is at £4.10.1.- per year from the year 1756.
The land I bought from Benjamin Porter being 360 acres should be sold at the discretion of my executors for money.
To my beloved wife Ann all my household goods and three head of cattle her choice, and one horse named Champion and one Negro wench Nan.
All the rest of my estate should be sold and the money be for the use of my son Jeremich Beasley with the money arising by the sale of the above mentioined land to be laid out and kept at the discretion of the executors till my said son coms of age.
The land and plantaion whereon I now live should not be sold but my said wife to have her life in it and after to return to my said son.
