- WILL OF MATTHEW ARMSTRONG, 6 May 1779, of No. Carolina, in the County of Lincoln, farmer, being very sick & weak in body... unto Lilly my dearly beloved wife the third of all the moveables likewise a mare; to my well beloved daughter Mary, a mettle oven and a small trunk; to my well beloved daughter Catherine, a bed; to my well beloved grandson William son of James Junr, tolls & ____; to my well beloved son Matthew my clothes & saddle & bridle, & 1/3 of money now lying in Brandons hand and the remainder to be divided among three of my daughters Jean & Esther & Elizabeth; to my grand children viz James & Matthew, John and Robert and Andrew the price of one Black mare that my grandson Andrew Leeper bought, the price to be equally divided amongst them the sum of £150; any other horses to be sold and money divided between two of my grandsons viz: Matthew Leeper son of James Leeper and Matthew Leeper son of Robert Leeper...
