Information on Mathias Miller
From "Virginia Valley Records: Genealogical and Historical Materials of Rockingham County, Virginia", by John W. Wayland, pg. 386-87:
Matthias Miller, son of Jacob and Catherine Charlotte Miller, was born in Berks County, Pa. (near Bernville), October 18, 1743, and moved to Rockingham County, Va., in 1794-5. He was a Revolutionary War soldier. He married:
- (1) abt. 1760, Susanna Catherine Mueller, daughter of Michael and Mary Catherine Mueller.
- (2) Catherine Aulenbach, widow. From Christ Lutheran Church records, Stouchbergs, Berks County, Pa.: "May 17, 1777, Matthias Miller, widower, and Catherine Aulenbach, widow, married." This wife died in 1782, July 14.
- (3) No data.
- (4) Anna Maria Schaeffer, nee Moyer, widow of Peter Schaeffer.
Matthias Miller was a communicant of Rader's Lutheran Church, near Timbersville, VA. He died in December 1805 and is buried in the old cemetery of Rader's Church. His 4th wife, Anna Maria, born 1753, died in 1815, is buried beside him. He was the father of 17 children.

Matthias Miller, born Oct. 18, 1743, was the father of children as follows: Maria Barbara, born Jan. 24, 1762, baptized Jan. 31, 1762 (sponsors, Christopher Muench ? Minnich ? and wife); Maria Magdalene, born 1764 (?), baptized 1764 (sponsors, Jacob Wagner and wife Maria Apollonia); John, born 1766, baptized 1767 (sponsors John Mueller and wife); Catharine Charlotte, born May 21, 1769, baptized June 4, 1769 (sponsors, the grandfather and grandmother); Maria Elizabeth, born May 22, 1771, baptized 1771 (sponsors, Casper Heckel and wife); Anna Maria, born Sept. 21, 1772, baptized Oct. 23, 1772 (sponsor, Anna Maria, single, daughter of Jacob Mueller); Susanna Catharine, born March 31, 1774, baptized May 17, 1774 (sponsors, Christopher Winder ? Winter ? and wife).
