- ↑ *Death certificate of daughter Mary lists her name as Mary Dalzell (b. Ireland). Mary was the oldest daughter and lived in close proximity to her parents her entire life. Name is given as McPherson in the death record of her son James in California, but it is unknown who the informant was, and given the distance from the rest of the family, the name may not be reliable, but it is consistent with collective memory that she was Scotch. The name is also given as Delap, presumably based on the middle name of son Robert.
