At the home of her son-in-law, Mr. E. F. Stillman, between Westerly and Ashaway, R. I., December 19, 1896, Mrs. Mary, widow of the late P. L. Berry, in the 79th year of her age.
Sister Berry made a profession of faith in Christ in early life and united with the Seventh-day Baptist church of Waterford, Conn., and in April, 1860, became a member of the First Hopkinton Seventh-day Baptist church. She was a faithful Christian worker in her immediate church duties, and also manifested to the world the characteristics of a Christian. The day that she was taken sick she said she was ready to go whenever she should be called. She lived nine days after the shock came, but never regained consciousness. “Asleep in Jesus, blessed sleep.”
