Lists 356hjk, 357c, 359ab, 94. She was named in his will 24 Apr., cod. 6 May 1710 (inv. 8 Nov. 1711), with ch. but Isaac:

His will 18 Sept. 1728 (d. ab. 13 Jan. 1728-9, Lynn rec.) names 6 + 3 ch., all liv. 1753 and all but two of Dover, Saml. of Epping, and Abigail, w. of Jos. Newhall of Salem.

    3 John, carpenter, Dover; m. 23 July 1703 Elizabeth Meader, whose tale of her experiences as a captive was pub. in 1780. List 358b. 10 kn. ch. (8 rec. 1705-1721), of whom Ebenezer and Caleb were k. by Ind. 27 Aug. 1724, the mo., 4 ch. and a maid carried to Canada, where the fa. redeemed all but one dau. the next yr. He d. ab. 16 June 1727 (Lynn rec.) while on his way to Canada a 2d time to redeem his dau. Sarah. Adm. to wid. Elizabeth 11 Nov. 1727; to s. John 27 Apr. 1737. Heirs (not incl. Nathl. jr.) signed an agreement 10 May foll., John, Isaac, Daniel, Hannah and Israel Hodgdon, Elizabeth and Ebenezer Varney, and Mercy and Abigail, minors, by their gdn. Jos. Meader of Nantucket.
