[Note: the identification of Ebenezer Brown appears incorrect. His gravestone and that of his wife, to whom he published in Roxbury in 1788, contradict this statement since their marriage overlaps the marriage of Mary Hyde. The marriage record of Mary Hyde identifies her husband as Ebenezer Brown of Cambridge. One would assume, based on the 1799 marriage of Ebenezer Brown to Amelia (Corey) Robbins soon after the death of Mary, that the correct Ebenezer Brown is the one who died in Brighton in 1817 (Middlesex Probate 2982).]
